I wasn't sure what category to put this in, but I remember someone starting a discussion board topic a couple of years ago on the TMBG Facebook group I'm about this and I thought it'd be an interesting thing to discuss here. :] So does anyone have any plans to dress as a TMBG band member/song character/song lyric for Halloween this year? Or does anyone have ideas for future Halloween costumes and how one would go about putting together that particular TMBG-themed costume?

I think we were sort of discussing this earlier because the Connecticut shows are the day before Halloween. I know the band dressed up during their Halloween show last year, so I'm interested to see if they do it again this year.
If ever I chose a TMBG-themed Halloween costume, it'd probably be one of the dancers from Birdhouse.

I think I remember reading about that in Kelly's blog! I had forgotten! What did they dress up as last year? Good costume choice! I made a crude pair of the William Allen White glasses a couple of years ago but they're very difficult to see out of because I used old sunglasses and only cut out the pupils. I don't know what I'd actually want to be (there are so many good ones!) but one that comes to mind at the moment is a purple toupee, a cape made of gold lame (sp?), and a t-shirt with a collage of pictures that have to do with old memories/historical events. And Kelly mentioned in her blog entry of the one show I've been to (The Vogue in Indianapolis, 10-13-09) that there was a guy in a Chess Piece Face mask, which I regretfully don't remember seeing. That'd be a nice one.

I've been thinking about wearing a costume on Saturday but I can't come up with a good idea for a TMBG themed one. I also need to find something with which pigtails are appropriate because I can't not wear pigtails to a show. We'll see if I come up with anything.

Hey, you could use Megan's idea for There's A Picture Opposite Me that you did a while back and wear mittens in your hair. Either cover your pigtails with them (like antlers..hehe) or get some tiny mittens (ornaments of some sort? Mittens for babies or toddlers?) and tie one to each pigtail. :] And maybe wear a bicycle hat?

I went as a TMBG fan :-P
(meaning I bailed on Halloween entirely and didn't dress up)

Mike and Paul did.
There was a little boy dressed as a paleontologist at the kids show which was adorable. And he got Danny to sign his little plastic pith helmet after the show which was even more adorable.
There was a Freddy Krueger at the rock show. I think those were the only costumes I saw.

Uh, cereal boxes made into a vest. With a weapon, of course.

The elusive Mike and Paul! But what did you go as, Mike (and Paul)? (I'm sorry if I sound creepy or pretentious or something negative. That's honestly not what I'm going for! I'm in an odd, hyper sort of mood at the moment and I really do want to know! If you want to share, of course.) The paleontologist kid sounds adorable, indeed. How sad that more people didn't dress up, though. Did the band dress up? And veggieman, that's pretty awesome. I've heard some joke with the phrase "cereal killer" before, but I can honestly say I've never seen a costume for one. Kudos! I didn't go to the TMBG show, of course, but I dressed up as a dandelion.
