oh! well, I didn't realise that at all. Sorry for the ridiculousness, then. Never mind what I said, you people are cool for getting that down so early. Ok, I'll be quiet. THAT SAID I DO NOT APPRECIATE UNCREDITED QUOTATIONS, TERAGRAM. You probably don't know what I'm talking about. Never mind that, too.
Anyway, back on the subject of me being an idiot, sorry again.

Sorry, sorry, I've been meaning to reply for days.
The songs are wonderful.
Canajoharie has been stuck in my head for days, which is the worst because I don't know the words.
Both songs are very recognizable from the little YouTube clips Flans posted.
Canajoharie is a Linnell song. He played it on the keyboard so I can't answer any questions about real vs synthed accordion. It's very State Songs esque and also very classic Linnell. There is a pretty kickin' guitar solo and horns.
Duende is, as the lyrics say, a march. Flans and Linnell both sing a verse, with Flans then doing another with Linnell on harmony. Flans actually said that it's called Three Might Be Duende, which is part of the refrain, but we'll see what they end up with. The lyrics are a bit more complicated. Both Johns needed lyric sheets to get them right. It's not quite as catchy as Canajoharie but I quite liked it.
The vocals from the mics at Lupo's were pretty awful next to the stage so I couldn't tell you much of what the lyrics are. They were better at Mohegan but I still couldn't really say what either song is about without either a better recording or hearing them a few more times.
Hopefully I'll get another shot at them in a few weeks on Long Island. :-)

Flansburgh had his Duende cheat sheet taped to the back of a monitor at The Sun. It had a smattering of the lyrics from his parts. A couple of songs after Duende, he peeled it off and got rid of it. Good thing I took I had taken a photo. ;D The words cut off on the right from the top are are SONG, HARD INSISTS and RETURNS.

Hahaha. Oh, everyone. You make me laugh. I love the wiki. I also love this forum. I'm glad people use both. I'm not sure what that meant, either, Maggie. But I think she knew we wouldn't and mostly said it for her own amusement. At least, that's what I gather. I do that sort of thing all the time. (Say things that seem to make no sense to other people but make sense to me just for my own amusement.) And it IS a good thing you took a picture of the cheat sheet, tdk! Though how in the world DID you manage to get that if it was on the back of a monitor? I wonder if the new album will have a picture of Meg Ryan on the cover. X]

If you didn't use the forum, how would you be discussing here?
