Does anybody like indie rock, if so, what groups? Pavement? Pixies? Built to Spill? Guided by Voices? Any band in the Elephant 6 Collective? Other?
I personally like all of the above.

Aren't The Shins indie, too? I absolutely LOVE The Shins.

I like the Pixies. The Shins are okay too but I'm not super familiar with their stuff. I really like the Mountain Goats.

I like shins. I bruise mine quite often, though. Darn door facings and coffee tables.
What are the requirements to be considered an indie band?

"Indie rock artists are known for placing a premium on maintaining complete control of their music and careers, releasing albums on independent record labels and relying on touring, word-of-mouth, airplay on independent or college radio stations and, in recent years, the Internet for promotion. However, in the 2000's many acts with a musical style identified as "indie" signed to major record labels or their subsidiaries, and began promoting themselves through more traditional media outlets. This has led to a further blurring in the meaning of the term." - Wikipedia

Yeah. It's really blurry. For example, the Flaming Lips are often considered indie rock while being signed to Warner Bros.
