I can't believe that's Linnell on "speck of dust, dust, dust" but there's been some debate. Does anybody else hear Flans there?

Well, I wouldn't be quite willing to put money on it but I am pretty sure it's all Linnell. I would have said Flans was doing the "speck of dust" part just from the version on the CD but the bonus video on my Amazon.com version of the DVD where they are performing it in the studio with Flans in the bear suit says otherwise. Linnell is definitely doing that part there and it sounds pretty damn similar to the version on the CD. And I know it's not just lipsynched because Flans joins him on the "George Washington's head" part which he certainly doesn't on the CD version.
So I'm going with no, Flans doesn't sing on Violin.

Welp, question answered. I should probably invest in the DVD version of No!, huh? I am impressed with Linnell's ability to sound like Flansburgh.

You need to invest in a 2 disc CD/DVD of ABCs from Amazon if you want that video. It's a bonus vid along with a flippin' fantastic version of Robot Parade, a very silly Stalk of Wheat and a lovely Sleepwalkers. Among others of course.
On a side note, I have never seen the videos on No! because they wont play on my Intel based Mac. Grrrr.

I always thought "speck of dust" was Flans, too. I recall first hearing this on Dial-a-Song and not having a CLUE what he was saying there.

It is always possible that it is Flans and the video is just different.
If only we had the band on speed dial to answer these questions.... It bugs me that there are so many questions to which we will probably never get answers.

Ooo!! I was going to buy the DVD for my other niece very soon. Is this version only available on Amazon? I really want to see those bonus videos! :}

Speaking of disbelief and singing Johns: "Boat Of Car"!? I like it, of course, but does anyone else find it hard to believe that's them singing?? It's so odd sounding! I know they like to use varying voices sometimes, but it just seems impossible that they could sound like that, for some reason. Am I the only one who thinks so? (Sorry this is a bit off-topic...)

The videos were originally only available on the Amazon version but I have since heard people say that copies they bought elsewhere more recently also included them. I think Amazon is your only super safe bet though.

Oh. I'm an idiot. Ugh, I hate the way I sounded in that post, too. That's what I get for being online at 4:16 am and not doing research. I only recently heard Boat Of Car for the first time, and normally I would be looking up the date it was released and the details and all that, but I decided to post something stupid here first, obviously. Sorry.

And thanks for the info, Kelly. I had no intention of buying copies, though. Just wondered if maybe I could order them at Barnes and Noble or FYE instead of buying them online, as I have little experience in online shopping. But I'll probably go ahead and try to get them on Amazon.
